Here's the definitive page for the garage.
The mess behind the garage
The Garage prior to 'improving'
Here's the garage after we cleared the brush and bramble from around it!
Next plan of attack, after the house is completed and we've moved in, is to
replace the backside of the near-flat roof to correct a leak and then to side
the entire garage to match the house.
Here's the East wall to ceiling prior to tear-off. Yep, it's rotting and nearly fallen in.
See how sturdy it was? Not!
The inside work-area walls during tear-out and removal of paneling and
insulation.
Yep, that fallen insulation is because of critters, raccoons, mice, squirrels
and chipmunks making a home.
Here's the new roof after we opened up the back hip of the roof and started
to create the Gable end.
Yes, the ridge, though it doesn't look like it, is truly horizontal.
The LONG beam installed! 28 foot doubled 2x12s. VERY HEAVY, but SOLID! Also, prepping the short beams.
Once the beams were in, the rafters were quick! Sheeting with 1x8s went quickly as well.
Big brother Grant shows up to help Pop and me. Adam also was there, but
not enjoying the view...
He later helped Cindy around the yard and landscaping and such...
Me with the drip cap. Pop, running starter shingles. It's starting to look right!
Break time, and a little chat.....
Gable end studs installed.
I've removed the paper siding from the North wall, and installing the
exterior 1/2 inch plywood sheeting.
The roof is done! My neighbor The view of the new roof from the inside. Nearly ready to clean

My neighbor came over and helped me tear the garage doors out. He
REALLY has a system for it!
It took all of about 10 minutes... Then, put up the tarp and have a beer!
Ah, the sign of a redneck, no garage door, just a BIG BLUE TARP covering the openings!
